30. 6. 2010 – Impressions of social life
Life with the host family offers more than just some food and all bills covered in the rent. In my particular case, I became a member of the family and I am being treated as they treat their own son. I have had opportunities to meet all the family’s close friends, who were impressed by my typically Czech view of the world and all developments.

2. 6. 2010 – When a dream becomes reality
It’s hard to believe, but my first year of university life is slowly coming to its end. I must admit I am looking forward to seeing my home turf and, even more, to being with my family and friends again.

21. 6. 2010 – And the first year is over
Due to the unexpected inconvenience caused by the eruption of a volcano on Iceland, I got to Newcastle after the spring holidays 10 days later than I had planned, and so I had to start with my review for exams quickly and intensively.
